March 19th Coronavirus Update

Chris Christensen  | Published on 3/19/2020

Dear PBA Friends,

After due deliberation, the PBA Board of Directors is extending out suspension of club activities through April 3rd.  We will re-evaluate throughout the current emergency as the situation develops.

During this last week I had the opportunity to review a video that was posted to our Facebook page by Dr. Roshon from USA Cycling, concerning the Covid-19 virus and his recommendations.  I took the opportunity to ask a follow-up question specific to group riding.

Here is the response:

Dr. Roshon’s perspective on group rides is keep them very small and only ride with people that you know personally and are confident aren’t showing any symptoms and haven’t traveled/visited high risk areas recently.

No public/general group rides.

Yesterday, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued an order for Dallas County that there will be no Recreational Gatherings over 10 people allowed.

At this time, we ask that all ad-hoc rides be communicated through your own personal channels.

For now, the best thing to do is to ride on your own or with a close friend or partner that you know is also self-isolating.

We will keep you posted on a weekly basis. In the meantime, let’s all support and stay in touch through our forum on Facebook. We need each other now more than ever.
