Weather forecast for Saturday Dec 21st is very cold. Setting the start time for this ride at 9:00 AM to get closer to 40 deg. Winds are predicted to be SE at 6 - 8 mph sustained with no gusting. On the plus side there's supposed to be full sun and no chance of rain. If there are at least 4 riders, we'll start the ride.

The normal weather-related cancellation disclosure paragraph follows:  If conditions early Saturday look worse than currently predicted (i.e. if it's any colder and/or winds are higher than current prediction) I'll post any update in this space and on the PBA Facebook page and the calendar area of the PBA website by 7:15 AM. If you don't see any update by 7:30 AM then we're on for a 9:00 AM start (or at least a parking lot decision). Also look for any announcement from the PBA Ride Coordinator, Richard Bohansky. His decision to cancel developmental rides on Saturday, of which B^2 is one, would supersede whatever I might be planning to do. The Calendar page on the PBA website will also annotate the B^2 ride as Cancelled if the ride does get cancelled.

The ride will start from the Gulledge Elementary School Parking Lot (just south of the Legacy and Preston Meadow intersection in Plano).  Remember helmet, gloves, water and flat repair kit. Please check air, brakes, gears and chain prior to riding. Please be ready to go at 8:45 AM at the start area for attendance taking and the normal ride safety briefing so we can start on time at 9:00 AM. B^2 is a no-drop ride that tries for a 14 to 15 mph rolling average over the ride distance. We'll again use the 41.3 mile route bypass the malls in vicinity of Stacy and US 75:

There are two rest stops at 16.8 and 30.0 miles (please help us keep the rest stop time to no more than 10 minutes each).  The one time we used this route we came in with a 14.5 mph rolling average.
