B^2 30 November Delay to 9:00

7:35 update:  After reading all the updates on the different rides related to the weather.  The concern at the moment is the wet roads as the rain is moving out.  I am still waiting until 9 for a parking lot decision for dry roads as posted (unless something changes).  B^2 will not ride if the roads are wet that is our mandate, which we will follow.

B^2 delayed:

Launch:  We will launch our rockets @ 9:00 a.m. (You know be there at 8:44 to prepare, sign in, and listen to the required PBA briefing). The rains should be over, with the strong winds the roads should be mostly dry.  This is the only delay there will be meaning if it doesn’t clear up we will cancel.

RL:  I will be your slightly insane RL but we should have others available.  Thinking I miscommunicated with the original RL, (but if he shows up I will bow out).  I apologize for that.

Route:  Gulledge II, you know where to find it.  Rex, is still the official sweeper remember it is his first.

Speed:  We will do our best to stay within our charter of 14-15 mph, that means there will be times we will be going well over that when the winds are behind us, we will push it (develop) a little up the hills.  If you haven’t ridden on a windy day this may not be your ride, but your call.

Drop:  This is a no drop ride, within the parameters of the ride.

Rest Stops:  There are the 2 standard rest stops on the route, but if nobody wants to stop we can bypass them.

Attire:  You got me on this. Is it really going to be 60 plus? We may be drinking more than we have all month, fill them up. (you know your drinking containers)

Cancellation:  If the roads are still wet we will cancel in the parking lot at 9.  Winds are another reason to cancel, if they are above 16, I will cancel (Developmental RL can cancel with winds over 15), as that is too windy for my cape and it takes all of the fun out of riding.  If the rain looks like it will linger I’ll cancel at 8, you all will be watching the same weather I will be, so you will know as well.

Up Front:  If the winds are strong, everyone may be put into the rotation to pull up front even if it is only for a mile or two.

Complaints:  You all know Robert was in armor, so he can’t hear and I was in the artillery so I can’t hear.  Hence, we just smile, nod and pedal on.  But we do hear the good, strange how that works.

We actually plan to have fun, but please control yourself.  As how can one not have fun dancing on your pedals and riding your bike if the temperature is really 60, one day before December!

There will be no posts tomorrow (Saturday) unless it is to cancel.

Be Safe, Be Strong, and Be Squared!

Merci,

John
