Distance Builder Long (DB Long) is a 60–80-mile variable route ride to train for longer distance rides such as the monthly PBA Century, MS150 and HHH. To be successful on this ride, the rider must be comfortable riding at a DB2 pace (17 - 18.5 MPH) and be comfortable riding 60+ miles. On DB Long, the responsibility of pulling is shared among the group. The rider should be comfortable riding in a group at the front and in the back of the group. This is NOT an entry level ride.
DB Long is a drop ride, and riders should have a SAG plan in case they are unable to maintain the group‘s pace or complete the ride with the group. The ride leader will ensure the rider has a safe place to wait for their SAG or that the rider is not in any medical danger if they wish to continue on their own.
The route will change weekly, and it is highly recommended that you download the route. Please ensure your bike is in working order to avoid lengthy mechanicals since we often times are quite a distance from our starting point.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start to allow time to sign in, introduce yourself to the ride leader, and hear the pre-ride briefing.
